Stone Film is Mark Limburg and Mark Limburg is Stone Film.
Mark is a professional filmmaker since his graduation (Royal Art Academy - The Hague - 1994).
He wrote and directed many music video's, awardwinning short fiction, corporate films, commercials, tv programmes and from 2008 mainly documentaries. His docs were broadcasted on national Dutch television, shown in cinemas and were awarded and selected for many filmfestivals.
Mark continues to marvel at the world around him—the unpredictable ways people assign meaning to it and nature’s relentless ability to persevere. In his work, he strives to reveal the extraordinary in the everyday and the everyday in the extraordinary. His work is characterized by a distinctive, often contrast-rich visual style, frequently employing the tension between sharpness and blur, light and shadow, hard and soft. Though he often works alone, he is truly a team player.
